The annual Molesey Carnival took place last Saturday 4th June. There was a parade of many brightly decorated floats along with the marching bands and the usual crowning of the Carnival Queen.

The Queen's Official Birthday is celebrated at Lodge Brothers East Molesey with a fantastic window display made by Branch Funeral Arranger Pat Moller.
Her hand made "knitted tea party" has attracted a lot of attention from passers-by, many of whom have commented on the originality and realistic effect of the sweets and cakes....

This year, our colourful Easter window display generated lots of interest from children and their families passing by on their school holidays. The children were always invited in to the branch to take one of the chocolate eggs.

St Patrick’s Day is marked today at our branch at East Molesey. The display in the window shows the Irish flag, a shamrock (hand knitted by Pat) alongside a bottle of Guinness.
Traditionally, the day is celebrated by a visit to Church in the morning, followed by dancing and merriment when the restrictions of Lent are lifted for one day!

The funeral arrangers at Molesey branch received many comments on their pink-themed Mother’s Day display at the weekend.
One client brought in a card and was very grateful for having it included in the display in remembrance of her mum.
The poem “My Mother Kept a Garden” was displayed in the window which has some lovely thoughts about the caring and nurturing nature of mothers.

As with all the Patron Saints Day’s, our branch arrangers at East Molesey have marked St David’s Day this week with all the essentials … daffodils, leeks and a carved wooden spoon in the shape of a dragon!
The day marks the day that St David died, 1st March in the year 601.

Lodge Brothers in East Molesey have been selling poppies for Remembrance Day as usual this year. We have also used the poem “When you go home tell them of us and say, For their tomorrow we gave our today” as a poignant reminder of the many lives lost during conflict.
