St George’s Day was celebrated this week, and Lodge Brothers branches across the region decorated their windows with flags and flowers.
Claire Nightingale, the Branch Funeral Arranger at Cobham, chose to include in her display some patriotic quotes from George Bernard Shaw and Benjamin Disraeli, a poem about England and of course the flag of St George.

Sandra Keywood, Branch Arranger at Lodge Brothers Esher branch, displayed the flag for St George’s Day in her window.
She said, “Many of the businesses celebrate by putting up displays and I am proud to have been able to play my small part to remember this day.”
All are welcome to pop in and have a cuppa with Sandra when passing.

The bravery of Saint George, England’s gallant Patron Saint, is marked this week at many branches of Lodge Brothers, in preparation for St George’s Day on Thursday 23rd April.

St George, England’s Patron Saint, has not been forgotten in Woking!
Pictures, flags, information and red roses (a symbol of England) have been put together as a window display to commemorate St George’s Day (Thursday 23rd April).
The eye catching display in Lodge Brothers’ window in Woking in ensuring that brave St George is not forgotten by the good people of Woking.
