Lodge Brothers Ashford Branch has won the award for “Best Dressed Christmas Tree” in Ashford. The competition runs hand in hand with Ashford on The Map, which Beverley Lodge (Director), Richard Leachman (Manager) and Kate Thulborn (funeral arranger) took part in by supplying mince pies, cupcakes and mulled wine in the freezing cold. Sara Matthews, Lodge Brothers Marketing Manager, ran last Sunday in the Santa Fun Run in aid of the Princess Alice Hospice. Sara, together with her daughter Millie and group of friends, all dressed up in red Santa uniforms, complete with big white beards, and ran three times round Old Deer Park. “Exhausting but great fun” said Sara “but if I do it next year I must remember not to go out the night before!”

ACTRESS Anna Friel popped down to Brentford on Monday to film scenes for her upcoming TV drama.
The 35-year-old, famed for her roles in Brookside and Goal!, was shooting for a new TV show in Lodge Brothers & Wickenden, funeral directors, in Half Acre on Monday (28).
She filmed scenes both inside and outside the premises and branch arranger, Valerie Perkins, managed to be caught on film in several scenes.

NORTH PADDINGTON: More than 150 people attended a memorial service for their loved ones at Our Lady of Lourdes and St Vincent de Paul Church, in Harrow Road, on November 5.
An hour-long mass was conducted by Father Francis Darkwah, followed by a presentation of names and the lighting of candles.
