Dear Sue, I want to take this opportunity to write to express my grateful thanks to you personally for all the support you gave me with the arrangements, which made it very easy for me or organise what, in the circumstances, was a really good day.  The choice of the tennis club for a gathering after the service proved the right one. One of my cousins took a look at the honours board and found my Mother’s name there as Ashford ladies’ champion in 1938!  Of the caterers that you recommended I used the Jolly Baker and they provided a very good selection of food. Thanks you so much for all your help and support.

My apologies for not writing sooner but as you will appreciate there is a mountain of correspondence. I wish to place on record not only my thanks to your company, but specifically Alison Millard who helped with the initial arrangements, thereafter by Sue Pursey, who could not have been more helpful on each and every request and many visits I made to your Ashford Branch regarding all the arrangements for my Wife’s funeral. The day worked like clockwork, the timing could not have been better, my thanks to everyone involved.

I visited the cemetery on Saturday.  The headstone looks really nice.  Thank Shirley for her advice on Karin Granite – just the thing.

On behalf of my family and myself I just wanted to thank you and all those at Lodge Brothers for the kindness and compassion you have shown in regards to the funeral of my beloved wife.  Prior to the day of the funeral I was still unsure of all the technicalities of the ceremony.  This was such an important day and I wanted it to go as smoothly as possible.  However I need not have worried.  Your personal reassurances and assistance made the whole ceremony run without a hitch.  I am so pleased that I chose Lodge Brothers to organise the funeral.  Rather than being stressed over all of the arrangements, the conduct of both you and your colleagues allowed me to spend the day reflecting on and celebrating the life of my wife and for that I cannot thank you enough.

To, Sandra, Sue, Richard and the team, Thank you for all your help, support and guidance in making the saddest day of my life one of the proudest.  From the first time we walked through the door until laying Dad to rest you were amazing, keeping me focused and not letting me crumble, helping me make decisions with such attention to detail.  The service was carried out with reverence, honour and dignity and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving dear Dad the best send off possible.
