St George, England’s Patron Saint, has not been forgotten in Woking!
Pictures, flags, information and red roses (a symbol of England) have been put together as a window display to commemorate St George’s Day (Thursday 23rd April).

A Woking man has devoted the last few months to putting together a display to commemorate not only all those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and later conflicts, but also in memory of his Father and Son.

Lodge Brothers in Woking are commemorating the Centenary Anniversary of the onset of World War 1 with a window display featuring books, photographs, poppies, official documents and popular prayers and song lyrics from the era.
Many passers-by have commented on the display and have said how much they appreciate the way Lodge Brothers uphold and support these important events on behalf of the Nation.

Lodge Brothers of Woking are delighted to announce that they have teamed up with the Woking Foodbank and are now a Collection Point for donations.
Staff at Lodge Brothers have been collecting for the Foodbank and last week Alison Buckland (Woking Foodbank Project Coordinator) visited to collect the 34.9kg of food donated.

Lodge Brothers of Woking conducted the funeral on Friday 31st January, of actor and Woking resident, Joseph Greig who died aged 91.
Mr Greig appeared in many 1960s television programmes such as Z Cars, The Saint, The Baron, The Avengers and Dixon of Dock Green. He also appeared in The Onedin Line playing Captain Baldwin, and played Guideon in the 1996 film ‘Loch Ness’.

The new funeral home at 32a St.Judes Road, Englefield Green will be managed by Richard Leachman and Robert Lodge who is the seventh generation descendant of James Lodge who founded Lodge Brothers in 1780.
