V.E. Day Commemorated at Lodge Brothers Weybridge

Jackie and Jane, Branch Arrangers at Lodge Brothers Weybridge created a colourful display to mark V.E. Day on Friday 8th May.

One window showed a street party scene with a table of homemade decorated cakes, flags, bunting and pictures of people on VE Day celebrating.

The other window was dedicated to Sir Winston Churchill, with a Union Jack flag as the back drop, a poster showing an extract of his infamous speech, a photograph of him with the Royal Family, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, with the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret on the balcony at Buckingham Palace on VE Day after his speech, joining in the jubilations with the nation and a copy of a newspaper of the day, announcing “This Is VE Day.”
