Steam Engine Enthusiast Has His Wish

A local Egham resident, a professional steam engineer and builder and driver of steam engines, recently passed away, and his family and friends hoped that a steam engine or two could be a part of his ‘send-off’. In the end, Lodge Brothers Funeral Directors, liaising with the family managed to arrange for three steam engines to be present on the day of the funeral, and indeed for one to be a part of the cortege, down Egham High Street!! Englefield Green branch arranger Jackie Kjos, who arranged the funeral, said: “The sun was shining and it was an amazing sight as this unique cortege arrived at the United Church in Egham”.
