As part of their programme of supporting local communities Lodge Brothers, the family owned funeral directors in Northolt, have donated a pair of trestles to St. Mary’s Church in Northolt. The new trestles, which were presented to The Rev’d Greville Thomas by Nigel Green-Smith the manager of Lodge Brothers Northolt branch, will be used to support coffins during funeral services.
During the last few weeks St. Mary’s Church have been holding a wide range of concerts, recitals and other events as part of their “Made in Northolt 2009” Festival celebrating local talent. The final events of the Festival, which finishes this weekend, include an art exhibition in the church on Thursday and Friday 2nd and 3rd July.
On Saturday 4th July the St. Mary’s Summer Fete is being held from 11.00am in the church grounds in Northolt village, opposite The Crown public house on Ealing Road. Their will be lots of entertainment for all ages including sideshows, live music, face painting, bouncy castle and barbecue.
The final event in the Festival will be held in the church from 3.30pm on Sunday 4th July when cream teas will be available along with background tea shop music from the piano and guitars.
Speaking at the presentation of the new trestles Nigel Green-Smith of Lodge Brothers said “We are delighted to have been able to help St. Mary’s by donating the trestles along with a prize for their Summer Fete raffle. We hope their Festival celebrating local talent and supporting events are well supported and enjoyed by the local community”.
