SMC Ford Sales Manager Adam Wheatcroft sprung into action when he saw a funeral cortege from Lodge Brothers Windsor struggling to reach mourners who were stranded in the flooding in Datchet.
Seeing that the hearse and limousines could not get to the residence, Adam made two trips through the flood water in his 4×4 to bring the family and mourners to the cortege, where they were transferred in to the limousines. They were then able to carry onto Slough Crematorium for the funeral of their loved one.
Bill Wilde, District Manager for Lodge Brothers said, “We are so very grateful to Adam for the support he gave us in helping this family. They had already been flooded in their home in Wraysbury, then the temporary accommodation they had been given in Datchet also became flooded. They certainly did not need any more dramas! Adam showed true community spirit and he is to be commended for his efforts in the way he helped us.”
