A Record Congregation at Lodge Brothers Christmas Memorial Service at St Mary’s Sunbury

December 12th, 2013

St Mary’s Church in Sunbury On Thames enjoyed a record crowd of 400 people last Sunday 8th December when Lodge Brothers Funeral Directors hosted their annual Christmas Memorial Service.

The magnificent 20 ft Christmas tree shed its light across the church, which was otherwise bathed in candlelight for this moving service of remembrance, specifically for those families who have suffered bereavement during 2013 in the Shepperton and Sunbury area.

During the service, the congregation were invited to light candles in memory of lost loved ones.

Carols were sung and Reverend Chris Swift gave a fantastic eulogy. Lodge Brothers District Manager Quentin Edgington delivered a solo performance, Egham Town Brass Band played throughout the service, and a poem was read by Director Beverley Lodge.

After the service mince pies and mulled wine was served to all.

The following day, Quentin Edgington received a letter from a past client, Mr.GR:

“Thank you for the splendid and moving Service at St. Mary’s Parish Church. This was a well organised event and was a real tribute to our departed loved family members and others, and is so much appreciated.”
