Funeral Conductor Quentin Edgington with Adam Wheatcroft of SMC FordSMC Ford Sales Manager Adam Wheatcroft sprung into action when he saw a funeral cortege from Lodge Brothers Windsor struggling to reach mourners who were stranded in the flooding in Datchet.

The community of Chertsey came out in force last week to help the residents affected by the flooding which followed the recent extraordinary weather. Ninety locals answered the call and turned up outside St Peter’s Church to fill and deliver sandbags, donated by local companies.

The Funeral Service of a senior Feltham resident, the late Sydney Patrick Peachey was carried out on Monday at St Dunstan’s Parish Church in Feltham.
Sydney Peachey, who was know to family and friends as ‘Pat’, had seen active service in World War II and was a cook and sergeant in the RAF. A resident of Feltham for many years, he was 98 when he died at the end of January.
