Carol Knight, our branch funeral arranger at Hanworth, was recently involved in another Lodge Brothers local community school project. Carol said, ‘I was asked by the Rivers Academy if we could help them by providing a Shield for their Sports Day, so I was extremely happy to be able to arrange a very splendid award for them to use for the Best Sports Team.’

On Saturday 2nd August, over 500 people attended the unveiling of a new war memorial outside Holy Trinity Church in Hounslow High Street. The memorial, which was supplied and installed by Lodge Brothers Memorials in Ashford, is one of a number of initiatives organised by Hounslow Council to commemorate the First World War.

Recently, Lodge Brothers of Feltham, in conjunction with the local history society, helped arrange and coordinate a Summer Event at St Dunstan’s Church in Feltham.
Dora Manning, the branch Funeral Arranger said, ‘It’s been really interesting arranging this event. It encompassed the church and the local history society, each providing fantastic local information.’

Carol Knight, Hanworth Branch Funeral Arranger, recently coordinated a community project with Crane Park Primary school in Hanworth.
Carol explained, “It was a great honour to be able to work with Crane Park School, and a joy to be able to provide Attendance Awards for the children who had managed 100% attendance throughout the school year.”

Lodge Brothers in West Byfleet, along with other branches across the region, are commemorating the Centenary Anniversary of the onset of World War 1 with a patriotic window display featuring sandbags, barbed wire, flags and memorabilia from the era.
Many passers by have commented on the time and effort that has gone in to the fabulous display.
