Training Awards for Funeral Directors
Three members of staff at Lodge Brothers, the local family owned funeral directors, have been awarded top marks in their industry training awards.
Jane Bellamy, Deborah Osborn and Neil Rosewell all passed their Certificate in Funeral Arranging & Administration awarded by the London Association of Funeral Directors.
Jane, who works as a funeral arranger at the Woking branch of Lodge Brothers, scored top marks and was rewarded with a Distinction. Explaining why she agreed to join the training scheme she said “Despite having several years experience in funeral arranging I had no formal qualification. I did start a training course a few years ago with another local funeral directors but they never encouraged me to complete the course. I have now begun a Foundation course as a start to getting my Diploma in Funeral Directing.”
Deborah and Neil both passed the course with Credits and Deborah has joined Jane on the Foundation Course. Speaking about the course she said “I have not been a funeral arranger for very long and I wanted to get some professional training and experience. I think it’s good to get as much knowledge about your job as possible.” Deborah, who lives in Sunbury is currently working at various Lodge Brothers branches as a relief funeral arranger and hopes to have her own branch to run soon.
Neil is at present working as a Chauffeur/Bearer based at Lodge Brothers head office in Feltham.
Robert Lodge, Chairman of Lodge Brothers, the seventh generation of local family owned funeral directors, and one of the team of funeral directors who devised the training course remarked “Our company policy is to invest in top quality staff training so that we can provide the very best service to local families. We are delighted with the commitment and dedication shown by our three candidates in achieving such high pass marks.”
