Top marks for local funeral
directors
Several members of staff at Lodge Brothers, the
local family owned funeral directors, have been
celebrating receiving high pass marks in their
industry training awards.
Jackie Crew and Liz Renno, who are funeral arrangers
at Lodge branches in Hounslow and Woking respectively,
both passed their Certificate in Funeral Arranging
& Administration awarded by the London Association
of Funeral Directors.
Explaining why she agreed to join the training
scheme Liz, who passed with a Distinction, said
“I wanted to increase my knowledge so that
I can provide even greater help for local families.
I hope to begin my Diploma course in Funeral Directing
later this year and I thought this new course
would be an ideal stepping stone.”
Jason Jackson, who has recently been promoted
to District Manager for the Feltham, Ashford and
Bedfont area also achieved the same qualification
after passing the examination with flying colours.
Congratulations were also in order for Linda Bowyer,
Assistant to the Manager, at G. Boutell &
Son in Byfleet. She recently heard she had won
the coveted Harold Rivett Award for 2007.
This award is presented to the London area candidate
who achieves the highest pass mark in the Diploma
in Funeral Directing examination. This is the
highest qualification in the UK funeral industry
and is awarded by the Institute of Leadership
Management and the National Association of Funeral
Directors.
This is the third time in recent years employees
of Lodge have won this prized award, previous
winners were Beverley Lodge and Keith Hopkins.
Commenting on receiving her Diploma and the top
candidate award, Linda said “When I was
told I had won the Harold Rivett Award I thought
it was a wind-up until I received the official
notification.”
Robert Lodge, Chairman of Lodge Brothers the seventh
generation of local family owned funeral directors
remarked “Our company policy is to invest
in top quality training for our staff so that
we can provide the very best service to local
families. We are delighted with the commitment
and dedication shown by our candidates in achieving
these excellent results.”
