Service of Dedication
to be held at Local Funeral Directors
Following the total refurbishment of their premises
at 72 Northfield Avenue, West Ealing, local funeral
directors Lodge Brothers & Wickenden are holding
a Service of Dedication and Official Re-Opening
on Friday 8th June at 12.15 pm.
The Guest of Honour will be Councillor Hazel
Ware, The Worshipful the Mayoress of Ealing, (planned
to arrive at 12.00 noon) who will be unveiling
a commemorative plaque.
The Service of Dedication for the new Chapel
of Rest will be conducted by Father Tom Quinn
of St. Peter & St. Paul’s R.C. Church
in West Ealing. The service will also include
a reading followed by a closing prayer and a blessing
given by Reverend Mark Melluish of St. Paul’s
Church in West Ealing.
Andrew Lodge, director of Lodge Brothers, will
give a short welcome and introduction speech.
The Opening Ceremony will be performed by Robert
Lodge, Past President of the London Association
of Funeral Directors and Chairman of Lodge Brothers.
The new décor and improved facilities
have been specifically designed to provide comforting
and informal surroundings for families. The refurbished
premises now include a new Chapel of Rest and
a private meeting room where families can discuss
funeral arrangements.
The branch is managed by Linda Bowyer along with
funeral arranger Paul Marsden.
Speaking about the refurbishment of the West
Ealing branch Robert Lodge commented “As
a local family owned company, with branches throughout
the area, we are pleased that we are able to serve
local families in Ealing. The improvements to
these premises are part of our policy of providing
the highest standards of care and personal service
to the local community.
“Seven generations of the Lodge family
have been helping and advising local families
in their time of need. Unlike many local funeral
directors, formerly owned by local families, who
have joined major national groups we are proud
to say that after 225 years our company is still
run by six members of the Lodge family. We are
the seventh generation of family owned funeral
directors.
