Local funeral director
goes to great lengths for charity
Local funeral director Quentin Edgington of G.
S. Keates & Co in Hampton Hill recently completed
a 5000 metres sponsored swim in the Swimathon
charity event held at Hampton Pool.
Swimathon is the largest sponsored charity swim
in the world and raises much needed funds to support
sports for the disabled.
Quentin who regularly swims at Hampton Pool and
participates in the Swimathon every year said
“This year’s event was very special
for me as I beat my personal record for the distance
and have raised several hundred pounds for the
Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Swimathon Foundation.
I’m also pleased to say all monies raised
from sponsors goes directly to the charities as
participants pay a separate fee to cover all administration
costs”.
The family owned business of G. S. Keates &
Co is run by husband and wife team Quentin and
Caroline Edgington, who are involved in supporting
many local charities.
