Lodge Brothers & Wickenden Remembrance Rose Garden Launch

May 28th, 2013

Lodge Brothers District Manager Paul Bye presents cheque to Emma Cartwright

Lodge Brothers & Wickenden Funeral Directors in Brentford are fortunate to have use of a large garden at the front of their property, and on Tuesday 21st May around 30 invited guests came along to the branch to celebrate the launch of Lodge Brothers Brentford’s Remembrance Rose Garden.

Clients were invited to sponsor a rosebush in return for a dedication to a departed loved one on a plaque at the front of the garden.

Funds raised by the sponsorships were donated to The Mulberry Centre, a privately funded Hospice based in the grounds of West Middlesex Hospital, which helps people come to terms with cancer.

During the opening service, Rev Derek Simpson, from nearby St Pauls church, offered some prayers and blessings for the families attending, then the memorial plaque was unveiled by Emma Cartwright, the Director of the Mulberry Centre.

A cheque for £1,000 was presented, and the occasion was marked with a balloon release. The guests were then invited in for refreshments and to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to one guest who had turned 90 on the day.
