Lodge Brothers Tour of Woking & Sam Beare Hospices

October 23rd, 2018
Lodge Brothers Tour of Woking & Sam Beare Hospices

Lodge Brothers of Woking are proud to support their local ‘Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.’ In the past we have held a cake sale at our branch, participated in an organised Richmond Half Marathon running to support the charities, and, if appropriate, continue to hand out gift aid envelopes to our families in support of the hospices.

Recently, Susan Areington was given her first tour of the new Hospice facilities in Goldsworth Park, Woking. Emma Hallett, Individual Donations Manager at the hospice said, “Thank you so much for taking the time to pop over to the Hospice, have a cup of tea with me, meet with my colleague Lauren (Glynn), have a tour of the Hospice, take some of the Inspire magazines for the Lodge Brothers’ branches in the area and confirm that you are promoting the forthcoming Light Up A Life Services plus advising your attendance on the 25th November.”
Pictured are Emma and Lauren in the Bradbury Wellbeing Centre. This area provides a range of treatments and therapies for day patients, and a valuable support framework for patients who are able to live at home, but need additional help. It offers a warm, caring environment, where time is available to talk about any concerns and socialise with those in similar circumstances in the surrounds of the hospice’s beautifully designed gardens. ‘For me,’ said Susan, ‘It was a useful insight into the local support groups, therapies and family bereavement support I wasn’t aware was made available to our families supporting loved ones at home in addition to the in-patient wards’
