Along with all the other branches of Lodge Brothers in the area, Alistair Barrett, Funeral Arranger at Thames Ditton branch, commemorated VE Day with a patriotic window display last week, including the union Flag and a newspaper from VE Day 8th may 1945.

The 70th anniversary of V.E Day has been marked by Lodge Brothers branches throughout the region.
Sandra Keywood, Funeral Arranger at Esher branch, has included in her display some printed excerpts from Winston Churchills speech, a newspaper from VE day, pictures of a street party celebration with a cake stand and tea cup containing information about rationing.
And above them all, a Spitfire hanging in the window.

Jackie and Jane, Branch Arrangers at Lodge Brothers Weybridge created a colourful display to mark V.E. Day on Friday 8th May.
One window showed a street party scene with a table of homemade decorated cakes, flags, bunting and pictures of people on VE Day celebrating.

Funeral Arranger Ann McMurray at Lodge Brothers in Walton decorated both branch windows to commemorate V.E.Day on Friday. The displays included the Union Jack, pictures of street scenes and street party celebrations, Sir Winston Churchill on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on VE Day, and a copy of a newspaper of the day.

Lodge Brothers across the region joined in the usual patriotic celebrations for St George’s Day last week with fantastic red & white window displays.
Many passers-by commented to the branch staff on the importance of upholding the traditions, and how lovely it is to keep an eye on the changing of the colourful window displays throughout the year.
